I have found that driving a s*itty vehicle significantly reduces the chances of being carjacked. Why carjack a 12 y/o Ford truck when the guy 3 spots over has a new Navi?

You're better off with a stick-shift manual, as the Goblins & Orcs aren't generally smart enough to figure those out.

Older vehicles (like 10 years or so) can be popular since they lack certain security features.

So thankful my daughters finally moved out of that shithole city after school and work there for years. When they're back in this area, of course they're right back down there to visit friends and my parental PTSD returns!
