Are they still supposed to send a 60 day reminder? I never got one.

Legally required to, and a part of the application fee is set aside for the costs of doing so.

So not doing it constitutes a theft or misappropriation of government funds.

Quick update. Just got off the phone with Montco guns permit unit and they are still processing applications from early January. Being I applied 2/9 I was told I likely wouldn*t get an actual appointment to come in until sometime in May, which would put it at almost 3 months. Just thought this may be helpful for anyone else waiting in Montco.

Applied on 2/9 and finally contacted today that my application was approved via phone call, text, and email. There was a note in the email about it being *contingently approved* pending a PICS check which is done 7 days before appointment to pick up the license. The first available appointment was not until 5/11 so it*s going to be well in excess of 45 days. Wonder what takes so long if they aren*t even running the background check until 7 days before? Or possibly they run it before you can schedule, and then again closer to your appointment date?

Sheriff office called today , approved , schedule pick-up appt on-line.

40 days application to approval. Still gotta do the PICS check when I get there.

Your application for a License to Carry Permit has been approved contingent on the Pennsylvania Instant Check System (PICS).

NOTE: This is not a notice of final approval. Final approval is done 7 days before your scheduled appointment for the required PICS check by the PA State Police.

You will need to schedule an appointment to pick up your license. To schedule your appointment, please login to the Order Tracker - https://montgomerypa.permitium.com/order_tracker. To access the Order Tracker, you will need your order number (###), email address used during the application process , and the password you created during the application process.

Please bring with you either a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, or PA Government Identification, with your current address as shown on your permit application. The permit will not be issued unless you have the proper identification. If applicable, you will need to bring your permenant residency card (if you are a non-US citizen) or naturalization certificate.

    For your appointment...

Make sure you have the Personal Protective Equipment required by the state, county and local government. Your temperature will be taken by courthouse staff. Masks are required. You will have to remove it temporarily for a photo. If this causes concern for you, you should wait until that requirement is no longer in place to come in.

ALL GUN PERMIT BUSINESS is done through the Jury Entrance on the Airy St. side (or north side) of the building. Do not bring unnecessary items with you because you will be going through security scanners. No weapons of any kind.

Dress for the weather because you may be waiting outside. There will be no place to sit so your wait time will be standing in line. Unless you are physically disabled, only the permit holder will be permitted in the office. Do not bring friends/family (including children) along with you.

Failure to appear for a scheduled appointment can be considered abandonment of the application process and may result in the withdraw your application and a refund part of your payment. You would have to reapply from the beginning of the process after withdraw.

I applied for a renewal late Feb, I guess I have to wait until late May. I see they extended LTCFs until June 1st though. I feel like they are taking advantage of the covid situation to screw people over.
