Default “Frying pan” finish Glock 17 polished.

I recently swapped slides on a generation three G17 and decided to take a chance with the original. It has the older sandblasted or *frying pan* finish. I wasn*t sure if I*ve ever seen one with the tenifer removed and polished and figured I would give it a shot. The procedure was easy enough despite quick research that suggested I would be sanding for days.

Let me know what you guys think. If you think it*s gaudy as heck or ugly as sin it*s ok to say it. I have my opinions but I*m curious as to what the forum thinks. Thanks for looking and all feedback appreciated.

Glocks are all gaudy as heck and ugly as sin but I also like that look. Why carry a run of the mill pistol when you can have something custom.

In fact I would be temped to keep going and go full to the max gaudy. Have the slide gold plated. Then have a one in a kind Glock with some real bling.

You did a fine job sanding it if you got the desired effect. It's not for me, but I hope you like it. I expect there will be some discussion that the tenifer is actually "in" the metal and you would have to take off quite a bit to remove it's protective qualities.

I suspect gold plated Glocks are standard cartel issue. Might not be a good idea to present that appearance.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I don't think you could pull that look off without a gold toof.

How did you remove the finish? Did you sand or some faster way?

Looks cool to me. I don't like shiny, and that looks nice and flat.
