Trout stocking is taking place two weeks earlier than usual.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just give the guy like five bucks cash for each fish before he dumps them into the creek where it will take hours of mind-numbing boredom to catch them?
LOVE - It's what makes AR15s SO DARNED SNUGGLY! :)

Catch them? If they are stocking now you just walk in the ice and pick them up.

Can*t wait. It*s a big tradition in my family. My boys are really into it now. We get out to our spot really early. It*s on a sandbar along the West Octoraro Creek. We start a campfire and cook breakfast in an old skillet. Weather permitting of course.

No endless hours to catch those fish, they'll hit on anything you throw out there. Even quicker if it looks like a food pellet.

I don't get weather's permission to do what I wanna do.

We used to get a bunch of friends and family together to fish a creek behind my grandparents cabin. Was a lot of fun. Then my grandparents sold the cabin and then a few years later they stopped stocking that part of the creek. Most other places it's shoulder to shoulder with grown men acting like children trying to catch 10 in fish. It's really great when some jackass walks in at 7:45 and stands next to you when you've been there since 6 to get a good spot. I don't even bother with opening day anymore. I go during the week when all the tourists are gone.

I gave up on opening day back when they changed the time to 0800 from 0600...

We used to get in a good bit of fishing and were often walking out when the hordes from the urban areas were just arriving.

I fish in the Adirondack Park, where fish live year 'round and people are few and far between. I don't have the patience to fish PA.
