Default Twins come home , PTR-91, HK-91 clones 308 battle rifles,

A couple weeks ago I found this pair of JLD Enterprises PTR-91s which are new old stock with boxes,
I just had to have the Twins and despite them both being NOS I took the one to the range today and was quite happy,
FYI, There is actually a slight build quality difference even though their serial NOs are 110 apart in the low 4000 range with the A prefix which seems to be the best barrel fluted models JLD produced,
At 50 yards and open sights I was shooting under 2" groups of 5, Best of 3 groups was just under 1.5" which I cant argue with open sights for off the shelf ammo and as you can see, A nice sunny day here in Pittsburgh Pa,

Very nice. They just need the paddle mag releases added.

I've always liked and wanted a 91.I don't think I would place an AR type buttstock on one, however

Yeah, it kind of looks like a prosthetic leg on there.

You need a Spuhr stock for the more accurate, of the two. And a LPVO or prismatic that can take the recoil (not all optics can).

Yes, they are worth the money at $300.

Keep the other one bone stock.

If I had one I'd put an ACOG on it.

These are both bone stock, Yes the collapsable stock and picatinny rail foregrip are both odd, Yet they are marked JDL,
Seems like these were a limited run of this design, At least they are all steel receivers and not the other offerings in the same time period,
OEM stocks are plentiful and easy to obtain,
While I agree the HK91 butt stock is better looking, These will fit in a smaller rifle case and in the M35A2 rifle rack with ease,
    Odd looking yes,
    Yet 100% stock,
Long time friend bought in 2002 and just put them away and never looked at them again,

Very nice acquisitions indeed.I remember when PTR 91 could be had for well under a thousand dollars and I should have gotten one back then.

These being black rifles, with scary looking fore-ends and stocks, and called "battle rifles", probably won't be on Biden's approved list and will be confiscated.
