Re: Buffers...I’m confused
It is a DPMS lower build kit though, and general consensus is they used this setup from factory also...which lead to people wondering why things got broken on their rifles in short order.
Not sure about the spring though. I’ll install the Odin works buffer with full weight and tune the gas block then go from there. Can’t seem to find any info about a 28 coil spring being used anywhere
Edit to add link to lower build kit (was $50 less 2 weeks ago and sold out last week...)

Spoke to someone on the phone about it, gotta call back tomorrow. Maybe they’ll replace it or partial refund. Not sure if they piece this kit together or if it comes from distributor this way, but they should probably know about it and reach out to other folks who bought them/update their website to reflect if the latter is the case.Last edited by HanzMcFeely; February 9th, 2021 at 07:38 PM.

Re: Buffers...I’m confused
I wouldn't trust that what you got from CDNN was 100% DPMS.
They buy out mass quantities from various places.
The "kits" they sell are often a mix of brands - even when advertised as "Bushmaster" (or whatever) - reading the list often shows several parts from Bushmaster, with a few other brands of parts in the mix.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Buffers...I’m confused
All the DPMS parts I bought were quality. A shame they are out of the game.

Re: Buffers...I’m confused
For some reason, some people bad-mouth a brand, thinking they give the impression that they know more about the industry than most ie "are in the know".
Years ago I read that DPMS at one point had military supply contracts. Dunno if true. I have a DPMS lower running an AR15 assembly. I have never had in a battle, so cannot attest to any torture testing. There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Re: Buffers...I’m confused
Took it into my LGS this morning to have him do a quick run thru and make sure it’s all torqued down, bore sighted, and ready for the range. He’s gonna look at the buffer and verify if it’s correct or not.
Either way I’m still going to upgrade to the Odinworks one when it shows up

Re: Buffers...I’m confused
LGS cleared the rifle for duty and told me to stop overthinking it on the buffer 🤣
I’ll shoot it and adjust the gas block with the bushy buffer then install the Odin and tune from there if the recoil is too much

LGS= Factory-trained armorer or gun smith? I've know some pretty unknowledgeable/misinformed countermen.

Re: Buffers...I’m confused
Gunsmith and builder of almost 50 years...Randy knows his shtick 😉 he’s done everything from trigger jobs to turning barrels and all matter of things in between.
Curiosity still has the better of me though and I want to pull the H carbine buffer and put it side by side with the Odin one to see if there’s a difference in length. Diameter on the Odin looks smaller
