Could the hole be enlarged to "big Colt diameter pins" of years gone by ?

Thanks again for all the advice, guys. In the end, I opted for a drop in trigger. The upper maker, Fox Trot Mike, suggested one by Aim Surplus.

Long story made short...I had to slightly open the pocket a tiny bit for the trigger to drop into place...but it's working! Managed to take the firearm to the range today and all works well. In fact, I'm more than pleased with this one!
