Different dies, different geometry, and different shell holders. They're not interchangeable. At least not by the book.

    NO!

9mm cases are thicker and slightly tapered , .380 neck OD , .393 rim dia.

    .380 ACP are straight , .373 neck OD , .374 rim dia

OK, thanks! I did notice that the other dies for .44 and 38SP also have their counterparts listed on the boxes and the 9's don't but thought I'd check.

As already answered.....No for .380. But you can trim 9mm cases 1 mm and use them for 9x18 Makarov. That works perfectly but you still need to use 9x18 dies (the bullet is larger diameter).

This is why I recommend sorting all of your 9mm brass by height (not headstamp) and pull the shorter 380 and 9x18 cases out. You cant always by the headstamp if someone trimmed it to 9X18.

Be careful of cleaners with ammonia, it softens the brass.

    All info above is correct.

The accuracy of pistols is predominately determined by a short barrel (as compared to a rifle), a short sight radius, and the two arms holding the gun at arms length, vs a ahoulder, and two different triangulation points on the gun..

Also, most rifles permit a cheek weld on the stock for consistency.

So a few thousandths case length variation, some small perccentage of powder charge variance, or slightly different bullet weights just dont mean as much in the handgun world until you get to Jerry Mickulek territory..

One of the top uspsa pistol shooters in the world said in a podcast that he eye balls everything when he loads 9mm. He doesnt measure the powder or length, just says eh that looks good.

When I load 9mm I at least check a few at first, then I load 3-6k with just an eye ball inspection of the powder levels while I’m loading and a final visual inspection of each round for backwards primers or split cases. I usually find 1 in 1k needs torn apart.

I’ve been loading my uspsa ammo that way for a few years now. Everything has been beer and skittles.
