I have the Go Wild camo version in 6.5 CM that I bought a couple of years ago. I replaced the factory stock with a Magpul American stock, which is heavy but fantastic. (thereby making it 200% American) The factory stock comb height is too low to use with a scope. I initially mounted a cushioned riser but the Magpul stock is much better and I went with that. The Ruger American is a real shooter. My rifle has a longish barrel (for me) at 22 inches I think. I took advantage of the threaded barrel to mount a Cherry Bomb and Trash Panda from Q and an inexpensive SIG scope. I really enjoy mine and shooting it is quite pleasant. However, it is heavy in the configuration that I have it set up in and groups start really opening up after about 5 shots in a short duration. (which does not bother me in the least) The Ruger American excels at what it is, inexpensive and precise!

I have an American in 30-06 got it in 2013 . Shoots like a dream , accurate out of the box . I have Nikon optics on it and I am comfortable out to 300yrds. I never really shoot past that but I am sure it would do so. As others have said the stock feels cheap but thats my only downside . I like the adjustable trigger on it as well , mine breaks at about 3lbs.

It is louder than any 556 AR in a rifle barrel. A Ruger Mini 14 Ranch is louder than them all.
Engineers make things idiot proof! Evolution makes better idiots!

I had ear muffs on the first time I shot mine and it was still extra loud , must be the 16 inch barrel..........

I have the 450 Bushmaster one. It shoots about 1moa....I think if I was picking a rifle in 6.5c Id opt for a little higher quality gun.

I bought one in .243 for my daughter and find myself taking it out quite a bit. The rifle shoots factory ammunition sub MOA all day long. Hard to beat for the money in my opinion.

I have (3) Ruger American Compacts in 308, a Predator in 25-06, a Ranch in 5.56, and a Compact in 22 mag. All of them shoot very well for their price point. They are my go to rifles now which allows me to then top them with quality glass and not break the bank.
