    Default Rifle suggestion

Hey gents- I was doing some research on a new hunting rifle and found an article that said the number one grab was the new Sako S20. Not sure if $1600 is worth it or if anyone has heard good things? Any suggestions on a new setup would be aprecited thanks in advance.

I really like the Weatherby Vanguard rifles if I was buying a new one. They have some pretty cool designs, adjustable match trigger and guarantee 1 moa accuracy. Even the fancier models are around $900.

Tikka T3 or T3x. They cost less, carry light, and shoot just as well as any Sako. I own multiple Sako 85 rifles and 3 Tikka rifles as well. The Tikka offerings are much more value per dollar spent. Unless of course you intend to buy a beautiful rifle like a 85 Safari or 85 Classic Deluxe, then we*re talking apples to oranges.

Never shot a SAKO I didn't like. But, only YOU can determine how much gun is good enough for your money.

Are they back to the SC factory now? Last I checked they moved them out to Portugal.

What do you want to use it for? Long range, short range, deer, bears, varmints? You want to go light weight, medium or heavy? Tikka t3 or x, Weatherby, Bergera, T/C Venture are all good.

do yourself a favor and give Bergara a shot probably one of the most accurate rifles I have ever seen. Several guys at my camp have them now and they all perform

I have a $350 Savage 111 that shoots clover leafs at 100 yards with cheap factory ammo. I do appreciate a nice rifle but you don't have to spend that much to get an accurate rife. Expensive rifles are sweet but not necessary for accuracy.

I agree with yoder, get a savage, and spend the difference on a good scope. A savage with a good scope is a better tool than an expensive rifle with cheap scope. Less worry about brightness, parallax, durability...
