Measured a high base 3 1/2" Federal and I get 87mm on the nose.

Wow! 3.425" does not sound correct. That would leave about a .075 long crimp. Anybody else have a brand other than Federal? This is not what I expected, but thanks for checking.

Sorry, I did miss that. I finally sat down and went into SAAMI specs. OAL-Folded(Shot) 3.110, Rolled(Slug) 3.290. Fired(Uncrimped) 3.510 All lengths have a -.250 tolerance. The length of the brass(Base) is meaningless. I was looking at 20 ga and 16 ga also. It is easy to see how people get in trouble with them. There is a lot of interesting stuff in there if you have the time.
