Default TAKE ACTION: Call your State Rep to Pass the Pisciottano Amendment (A00154)

TAKE ACTION - VOTE IS TOMORROW

CALL your state representative and urge him or her to vote for the Pisciottano Amendment (A00154) which eliminates the Governor's power to regulate firearms during a state of emergency.

The PA House of Representatives will vote on amendments tomorrow for HB 55, the proposed Constitutional amendment to curtail the governor's power during a declared state of emergency.

Representative Nick Pisciottano (D-38) offered an amendment to HB 55 to remove the governor's power to regulate firearms during a state of emergency. And since this is a Constitutional amendment, the Governor cannot veto it.

So, please follow the link below and CALL your state representative immediately to vote for the Pisciottano Amendment (A00154). The vote is tomorrow, Tuesday, January 26th at 11 AM.

I'll call Dave Maloney's office and chat with my buddy. I hope they're not making the same mistake they made with Marsy's law. I am not saying that I liked Marsy's law, just saying that they fucked up and it got declared unconstitutional by the courts.

So this got shot down 185 to 17. What gives? Even staunch 2A supporters voted it down (i.e. Metcalfe).

I'm a bit suspicious on why pro gun groups haven't given us heads up on this bill. I'm only reading about this bill a day before the vote on a thread on this website. Something went wrong.

What got shot down, the whole bill or an amendment? I'm thinking it could get dicey when adding amendments to amendments to the constitution. Could it be that the word was that amendment wouldn't pass so they ditched it? Remember, Marsy's law passed the house, the senate and passed vote but got shot down because it had more than one issue in it.
