    Default Stocking up on mags

30 around AR and AK mags are cheap right now with ammo prices so high. With a Biden administration and both chambers controlled by democrats, do you think there will be a mag shortage with extremely high demand for them in the future?

I think what is more likely to happen is they'll place ARs and other high cap capable pistols and rifles and high cap magazines in the same category as machines and subject to registration and taxing under NFA.

So hedge your bets and get a few 10 rounders just in case.

If it looks like a ban on sale of newly manufactured magazines greater than a certain capacity will pass... then yes there will be high demand and prices will rise. I'm going to be an optimist and say that kind of ban doesn't have a big chance of passing. The dems know that type of gun control is a losing proposition in 2021 and they'd get nuked in the mid terms. We shall see what the future has in store.

If you don't have a good supply already - yes definitely stock up. But don't necessarily count on being able to resell later this year for $150. Well, maybe. Probably not. But maybe.

I think that's less likely than a ban on new purchases for civilians. It's easier to monitor and control manufacturers and retailers than it is 100 million gun owners. But like I said in my previous post - we have absolutely no idea.

Yeah, but "mag repair kits" are still a thing, 50 state legal, and not a magazine.

And when "gun parts" are banned from internet sales, they will be even harder to get than legal-capacity mags.

I think there is a high demand now. Prices are already going up. I think there was a good stock but over the next few months people will be stocking up like crazy as they realize what has happened to ammo can happen to mags also. Soon the mag supply will go down as the ammo supply has gone down. When that happens mags will still be there but for a much higher price.

Basically the current prices are the lowest they are going to be for some time.
