I have not bought ammo for a year, i have a decent supply still but I do not shoot as often because of prices. I just looked on Freedom Munitions is selling remade 556 55gr for 0.95 a round. 9mm 115gr for 0.68 a round. Both in stock, while i know components are more costly but at those prices I doubt I will ever go back to buying from them even when prices come back down

You won't be able to buy from them anyway once internet ammo sales are banned

Our local gun shops have not had any ammo delivered so far in Dec or Jan in the 223/556/308/45, very annoying, just want to build up some 223/556 for when the weather warms up, figured I could do that with a 100 round box a month.

Cabelas is managing to sell federal 9mm for $19.99 per 50 round box still. I know they are a huge national buyer but they haven’t raised prices much as compared to others.
As with any vendor of any product, pricing is done with the ability to buy the next batch in mind. If their suppliers are raising prices during the week, then the vendors will raise theirs as well. There are certainly some that gouge, but in a rising price market anyone who wants to stay in business will have to price according to the cost of resupply.

When I was at Cabelas last week people were waiting in line and buying ammo faster than they were putting it on the shelf.
