The fox ticker said "unregistered ammunition" whatever that means.
It's spelled out in the Constitution, Bill of Rights, 2nd Amendment.

If he was contracted for inauguration security he certainly should have known. One article said he had fake inauguration credentials. So if he is contract security, does any of this fall on the firm that hired him.

Does not apply in restricted zones.

No plans to travel there whatever but I wonder what they would do with my retired leo status.
Like N.J. they would likely ignore it and bury me under a load of add on charges.

Of course DC’s gun laws are fucked up and shouldn’t be how they are. That being said...you as a person living in a gun friendly state near states or DC that are not gun friendly need to be aware of that and know that this situation is a possibility if you enter them. I work in DC and the intersection he got caught at is no where near any of the entrances to DC from VA, so if he did enter DC by accident, he had plenty of ways to have gotten back out to VA before ending up at this checkpoint...

If the story is true, this individual is not responsible enough to own firearms.

Beeler also claimed that he forgot to remove the gun and ammunition from his vehicle before entering D.C. "It was just me forgetting to take it out of my truck before I left for work," he said. "I don't know what the D.C. laws are. It still comes back on me, but I'm not a criminal."

Well, it did, at least once.

Back in 2013, NBC's David Gregory displayed a standard capacity magazine on the show he was on. Problem was, he was in DC at the time, which made possession of said magazine illegal.

What was the outcome? No charges, of course. HMMMMMMMM.
