Put together 50 test rounds for .223 Rem. 163 gr SP (Factory Second from Powder Valley) ahead of Varget starting at 24.5 gr then increasing in 0.4 gr increments to 26.1 grs. Fiochi Small rifle primers.
The cases vary in manufacture but all were processed over the Lyman 5 station machine. Even so the primers seemed to need more than the usual amount of force to seat them. Primer seating was done on my Dillion RL 550b. Powder charges were dispensed through an RCBS Chargemaster. Some day soon I'll be able to test them over my Chrony.

I put a ladder together for my .300 WM. 69.5 gr thru 75.0 gr of IMR4350 and 150 gr Barnes.
The Hornady brass is on its last run. I believe 5 X. The hook test for case head separation had me toss about half of them. I got a dozen good ones but I'll pitch them afterward.

Tomorrow, ill.load 2 more ladder runs using Berger 155s and 7828 and I4350.

That'll.be using Sig brass fired 2X.

Not sure if ill.get to the range before the next atmospheric river gets here.

I went to the range yesterday with three different loads, and I wanted to see how the .45 super handled them in progression. Since I was out of HS-6, I dove into the reloading charts for .460 Rowland and found a couple of powders I have, that give better velocity results. Blue Dot just about fills the case with the starting load, I know the bullet pushed down the powder column a little bit. Because of that, I won't bother with Blue Dot in the future, but it shot well.

My next powder is Power Pistol, and according to the charts, I should be getting 1400 fps with my 200 gr bullets. I started low, loaded ten per powder charge, and shot them in increasing succession. I wouldn't know how fast the bullets were traveling, because I shot my cheap chinesium chroney. The first bullet went straight through the top of the housing, gutting the circuit board, led sensors, and battery tray. I have no luck with chroneys.

To be fair, I know I've been anticipating recoil a lot more with this pistol. Half the time I don't think it's safe until a few rounds go downrange without incident, the other half because it is, in effect, a magnum pistol. Now that I have a load that I like, I'm going to spend more time getting to see how accurate it can get. Also. to be honest, it doesn't have the greatest trigger because I had to put a six pound striker spring in it so the primer wouldn't rupture at .460 Rowland pressures.

I really do enjoy shooting this pistol, I just have to get more comfortable with it. Next on my roster is to test for penetration of various items- 5 or more water jugs in a line, how many inches of pine boards or drywall can it go through, mild steel, etc. I want to compare it to .44 Magnum because I'm curious.
