    31 rounds of 264 win mag for my elk hunting trip to New Mexico.

    Rifle = Montana rifle co X2 26* tube
    Brass = Nosler new
    Primer = Federal 215 mag
    Powder = Reloder 33
    Charge = 74 grains
    COL = 3.340
    Velocity = 3100 fps

    Shot a cow elk 3 years ago at 100 yards with the same load and rifle, looked like a grenade went off inside chest cavity.

    Loaded some 44 mag and .223. Took apart one of my Press's and gave it a good cleaning and lube.

    I used up most of my stash of 30.06 tweaking the new glass on each rifle.

    So yesterday and today, I resized 200 30.06 and 100 30-30.

    I small base sized the brass for my Remington pump in .06 and full length sized the brass for my National Ordnance 1903A3.

    After resizing, I trimmed all the brass, chamfered and deburred every piece and cleaned the primer pockets

    I use some milsuro brass for the 03a3 and have brass from 1931, 1936, 1957 and 1969.

    Old Matilda shot 1 5/8" groups with both 180 gr Sierra round nose and 150 gr Hdy Interlocks although groups were 5 inches higher with the 150s.

    The 30-30 brass is a mixed bag of RP, and Winchester so sorted those.

    I was running Imr 4350 with the Speer 170 deep curls but found a few pounds of Varget and get close to 300 more FPS with a max load.
    Accuracy dropped off so ill download a short ladder for that.

    The Henry in .44 needs some more work.
    H110 and 240 gr XTPS are not consistent so, ill try backing off the charge a bit to see if it gets better or try some 270s

    I have to put together more .300 winmags and 7mm mags too although I got a really decent group at 200 with the 7mm, 140 Nosler Bts and IMR4350.

    The PA10 is taking a back seat for now.
    I put a SightMark Optic on it and rezeroed it. I'd like to take this on a deer hunt if Pa ever allows it.

    So, brass is prepped for. 06 and 3030.
    I need to do the same for my Tikka and 7mm mag.

    I should shoot more.

    Yes. My fingers hurt. Ha.

    Today, I only had 5 7mm 140s left so loaded those.
    I also.loaded 9 .300 winmags with 165 Nosler Ballistic tips.

    68.0 gr of Imr4350 had one 3 shot group that only varied by 5 fps so I keyed on that. Loaded 3 with 67.8, 68.0 and 68.2...

    So, next range day, will take the 1903A3, th 30-30, the pump .06, the Rem 700 and the Tikka.

    I should be real close on establishing most of my hunting load, rifle and scope combos.

    Once I determine what my elk load will be ( torn now between Accubond 165s and Hammer Hunter 160s), ill get Leupold to make a scope dial for the VX5HD.

    I'll take the 1903A3 out for old mans rifle doe season. I love shooting that old POs 2 groove R44 barreled gifted gun.
    The Rmington 760 for rifle deer with the Marlin 336 as a backup, the Henry and or The 7mm mag for Washington Co and Allegheny.

    I haven't shot a deer yet with the 7mm or the Henry or for that matter the New Model BH in .41 which I need to get a load together for.

    I should shoot more.
    Ran out of the 140 noslers ( thanks quarterbore) so will order 3 boxes of those tonite.

    I should do a pistol day somewhere in there too.

    I just got my 10 point re cabled and happy to 30 so far but reloading for that is slow. One bolt at a time.
    Applied for Pas elk tags tonite. Ha

    I just finished 20 rounds of .300 winmags.
    78.1 gr of R L23 under 160 grain Hammer Hunters.

    Last run of these at 78.1 had velocities of 3239, 3239 and 3240.
    The 200yd group was an Inch and 9/16.
    2 shots were 1/2" with one flier ( ha).
    I'd buy that flier any day. Shots 25, 26 and 27

    One 3 shot group was tighter but the velocity was spread out more.

    Nice velocity for the 300 and hammers. I wish I could find Alliant powders like R23, R26, R33, finding any around here is like finding winning powerball numbers. I need to start on reloading my 6.5PRC with the 124 hh for deer season.

    I have 6 rifles that I use to hunt deer.
    The 2 .300s are elk rifles or moose if i decide on that hunt.

    The deer guns are a Marlin 30-30, a Remington 760 pump in .06, A Rem 700 in 7mm mag and a National Ordnance 1903A3 parts gun.

    Since last season, I changed glass on the 30-30 and 03A3. I changed loads for the 30-30, 7mm mag and fooled around with other bullets for the 03A3.

    The load I had for the 30-30 was 34.5 gr of IMR4350 which averaged just about 1850 FPS. I shot one deer with this load and she went right down at 30 yards.
    The published Speer loads for a 170gr Deep Curl was other powders but I used what I had. Recently, I found a few pounds of Varget and worked a load to max (33.0 gr) and it worked out to be more accurate and added about 350FPS to 2195 FPS ( 10 shot avg)

    I'm happy with the result and this is my new 30-30 deer round. I have a hundred cases prepped and ready.

    The National Ordnance 1903A3 is literally a POS parts gun. I love it. I put about a hundred bucks into parts that were missing or broke.
    The plastic upper foregrip was busted. I got a wooden replacement off a similar gun, whittled away and fit it with a rail. I took a file to the rear sight attachment location, fiddle fucked around trying to get it secure and mounted an old Bushnell scope that busted last year.

    For under 200 bucks, I got a Vortex crossfire 4X12 and mounted it. I tried different loads with 180 gr round nose, 180 gr Hdy SSTs and Hdy 150 gr Interlocks.

    The Remington 1944 2 groove barrel ate everything and not too shabby results but I decided on the 150 Interlocks with IMR4064.

    The first target for the A3 had the 150s hitting about 5 to 6 inches high with the SSTs on the left and round nose Sierras on the lower right.

    i shot the rifle at 200 and got this.

    Under 2" at 200 with that old rifle made my day. This is my old mans early 3 day rifle doe choice.
    With 38 bullets left, I have 100 pieces of brass cleaned, sized, deburred and primer pockets clean for the 48.5 gr of I4064 which is giving me about 2700 FPS.

    The Rem700 in 7mm mag gets 140 gr Nosler ballistic tips ( thanks QB).

    I shot 6 3 shot groups using the 140s and IMR4350 at 64.0 thru 65gr

    64.8 had one round with stiff extraction and . gives me right about 3100FPS. Best group but a bit hot. I'll back that off. The deer won't mind if I drop 100FPS

    The 760 pump gets Barnes 180 TTSX and I 4064. I'll tweak this. It shot better last year but 2" at 100 is where it started over 40 years ago.

    The Henry .44 mag did better with LilGun than H110 so still playing around with that too.
