No reloading today. I bought a shelving unit to store all of my reloading supplies. New brass, clean brass, dirty brass, primers, empty plastic ammo boxes, they were all sitting around in boxes on the floor and this sucked them right up. It was part of a 90's entertainment center that was built like a tank, 25 bucks on Craigslist. This also motivated me to start painting the basement floor, so that was last weekend's project.

If you can repurpose an entertainment center, people are giving them away for nothing. They spent thousands of dollars on huge pieces of furniture that no one wants or needs anymore. If I had a wood stove, I could heat my house with free entertainment centers!

    Used 158 Xtps and W296

Looks great! Floor came out nice. My area is a nightmare right now.

Look forward to hearing about your 158 lead, recipe, and how they shoot. Do you have a rifle you shoot them out of?

No, no rifle. Just a SW 66-2 4 inch .

    I haven't decided on powder.
    I have Unique, 700x. I 4227.
    For the jacketed, I have w296 / H110

Not sure about getting a 357 rifle but probly won't with the .44 Henry on order.

Nice, haven't tried mine in a revolver yet. I used 14.5 296 with my lee tumble lube 158 swc. I powder coated them and no problems with them going 1700 fps out of my rifle. I think I remember Unique being pretty good for lower power loads.

Had an interesting time reloading and working up some .380 apc loads.
Over the weekend I cast some Lee 102 gr. rn with some range lead, sized to .365, tumble lubed with 45/45/10.
Using several manuals and HP38 I loaded 2.5 grs to 3.0 grs. in 0.1 gr. increments. Plunk testing the barrel I settled on an OAL of .970".
Set up the old chrono, and after a new battery and the obligatory ritual monkey mating dance got it working.
Settled on 2.7 grs. that ran with an average velocity of 682 fps, sd 16.1. Light shooting and accurate for a LCP at 10 yds.
Nothing out of the ordinary there but I inspected cases after each round.
Now I know the discussions on trying to determine pressure by primer signs.
I just found it interesting to what 0.1 gr charge increase could do. Yes, I know limited case size and so on but still caught my attention.
Pic shows 2.7 grs on brass case and 2.8 grs on nickel case. Still low pressure but jump was dramatic.
Working on up to 3.0 grs. the primers went flatter but nothing as noticeable as the pic.

I trimmed another 52 .357 cases, primered, belled case mouth, powder charge for these Speer 158gr lead SWC and readjusted the seating die.

    I used Unique, 700x, H110 and Imr4227.

    Unique was 6.0 gr, 700x was 5.0.
The H110 and I4227 had some at min and a few at max.

I'll shoot these out of my 4" S&W 66-2 at 10 yards, chrono them and shoot the New Model Blackhawk and Redhawk.

I would've thought more velocity. I ended up using 2.5 grains of bullseye under 105 grain lead rn. I didn't bring my chronograph but would've guessed mine faster. Now I have to bring it out and see. Thanks for the report.

27hand, looking forward to your 357 magnum report.

Do you have to trim straight-walled cases? I've heard guys say that they never do.
