    Default VCDL Day - January 18th, 2021

Hey everyone, the PA2A crowd is working on getting some attendance from PA for the annual "Lobby Day" down in Virginia. Normally each year, they have a massive gathering at their capitol in Richmond to lobby their legislature. Unfortunately this year, between COVID, new gun laws aimed at preventing patriots from legally carrying downtown for events like this, and even the city conspiring to ensure the VCDL doesn't get the opportunity to get a permit for the event, they've had to come up with a new theme for this year and got quite creative with it!

For 2021, the VCDL is coordinating a massive 2A caravan; they have several routes established from each corner of the state, to form several massive caravans that all converge in Richmond at the same time and keep this huge parade going through the capitol for hours. For more info on the routes, go to their site here: https://vcdl.org/LD2021Routes/

PA2A is looking to muster folks from PA, and gather our group to meet in Winchester, VA the day before. Winchester is a meeting spot for a "sub-route" that joins a primary route in Staunton, VA.

Our plan is to get to Winchester on Sunday, January 17th, spend the night and be ready to hit the road Monday morning to join the primary caravan in Staunton around 1:30pm.

I encourage everyone that can attend to try and coordinate carpooling in this thread, since it's a bit of a drive. I'm happy to help coordinate folks coming from wPA (I'm in the Pittsburgh area) and we'll have someone help coordinate from central/Eastern PA.

If you'd like to help coordinate, please join us at pa2a.org and join the discussion.

Peaceful Lobby Day Pro-Gun Rally In Richmond, Va.

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 7:00 PM PT * Monday, January 18, 2021
Virginia gun rights advocates demonstrated peacefully outside of the state Capitol amid their annual Lobby Day protest. On Monday, dozens of protesters gathered in downtown Richmond to challenge recently passed gun control legislation.

Beginning this year, Richmond is enforcing an ordinance hindering access to concealed carry permits in the normally open carry state.

Virginians participate in Lobby Day demonstrations every year, promoting their right to challenge lawmakers and their policies.

*Lobby Day has traditionally been the time for citizens of Virginia to come and express their concerns to politicians,* Mike Dunn, member of the Boogaloo Boys movement said. *It*s been a chance to make your voice heard, and with recent unconstitutional gun ordinances banning open carry at any events or protests that should be permitted, we*re going to come and defy it.*

Local law enforcement were worried the event would draw a large and violent crowd, but it remained peaceful. This came as officials prepare for threats of violent rallies near inauguration day.

Only 'dozens', eh. That's a shame and coming from OAN I expect it to be accurate.

"Dozens" would be a fair estimate of those on foot in very close proximity to the actual buildings, within several square blocks that had been heavily surrounded with fences, barriers, and police, where vehicles were restricted. Openly carried firearms were plentiful, despite posted signs with misleading wording, and chest thumping by the mayor and governor.

There were hundreds of police, but thousands of citizens, in 4 distinct caravans that grew larger as they traversed the state and came through Richmond over the course of several hours.

VCDL is a first-class organization. They did a fantastic job adapting as the government threw up hurdle after hurdle. It was definitely something I'm glad and went down for, and I hope to go again in the future.
