Default Red dot options for shotgun?

Just bought a new TRS-25 red dot for my Charles Daly N4S. First range trip, it stopped working. Guess it can't handle the recoil. It was fine on my 22 pistol.

Anyway, what red dots, sub $100 if possible, should I look at that can handle the recoil?

    This Truglo any good?

Anything under $100 is Chinese made and I would question the ability to withstand such use.

The only "budget" options I think may be worth looking at are something from Primary Arms, or a SIG MSR or Romeo 5.
All are Chinese made, but they are higher quality than say some Chinese dot found on Amazon for $35.

Does it need a riser, or does it get mounted using the low mount?

I had it on a riser so the new one will be on the same riser

$99 - lowest I've seen it since last year.
    https://www.bereli.com/sig-sauer-msr-red-dot-sight/

Research it to see if there are any reviews mentioning shotguns.
I have one. Not sure if that riser comes off.

The Romeo 5 may be better, but it costs more.
I've seen them around $120 recently though.

Are you using this one on a shotgun?

Unfortunately the newer TRS 25’s suck compared to the older ones. I would go with a Sig or holosun offering myself. You can check out the 704 Tactical channel for his budget optic tests. Lots of offerings typically under $100.00.

    I got a couple of the TRS25's.
I always liked them. simple dial for on/off and brightness. I have one on my Shockwave. has held up well do far.
Mine are over 5 years old.
What did they change about them ?

I have one going back 8 years and in runs like a champ on just about anything. They changed them 3 or 4 years back now. I know there are different markings on the older ones then the new ones just don’t remember what they are. Easy to find out in the Amazon reviews though.

Old ones have yellow "Bushnell" text on them

No. That's why I said to research and see if there are any reviews with shotgun use.
