AR modifications to turn them into 'non assault' rifles
Based on the events of Jan. 6, it is reasonable to expect more gun control laws.
Suppose a AR was 'modified' so that it was no longer a 'assault rifle'. Specifically
- fixed stock
- an upper that is converted to pump action (do not even have gas port on the barrel)
All my magazines only hold 7 or 10 rounds anyway (458 SOCOM).
Or, do think that the gubmint would redefine constructive intent.
EDIT
The key would be converting to pump. Most 'assault rifle' bans/restrictions target semi-autos. Do no believe that the lower receiver is registered as a semi (someone correct me if I am wrong). So if convert it to a manual firearm, do not have to 'turn it in' because it is not longer an 'assualt rifle'. The upper is unregistered, so you can keep it, just not on lower. Kind of pistol upper/rifle lower...Last edited by MMH; January 8th, 2021 at 02:44 PM.

they can pass all the laws they want. they don't mean anything unless you comply.

Re: AR modifications to turn them into 'non assault' rifles
Agree. But this goes for more than just guns - lock downs/martial law, stolen elections, over-taxation, etc.
Unfortunately, most of us do comply. In addition, not to comply will have to be more than individual actions and require covert (no internet, cell phones, etc.) coordination and organization. For instance, if a person refuses to pay their taxes, their bank account will be siezed, house foreclosed upon, etc. If 20 Million people do not pay their taxes, the gubmint will not be able to do that.Last edited by MMH; January 8th, 2021 at 02:15 PM.
