I thought my guns didn't have good sights, Or the scope, Or the trigger pull, Something was preventing me from being a good shooter,
Yes I have a nice Garand, O3A3, Carbine and other assorted flavors,,,,,,,
All the while it was me that the sights were off,
I promise you that if you shoot a thousand rounds from a low recoil firearm like the Smith and Wesson model 17, You will shoot the 44 with expertise,
You buy and shoot a 44 Mag 100 times, Ill still outshoot you one handed,,,
No matter what you buy, Best to buy something reliable and to me a collectable, You wont wear out an older Smith and Wesson revolver and will sell it for more than you paid 5 years down the line,,,
I will say that I do love my 500 magnum, But without my model 17 I may not be the shooter I am today,
Plus 500 rounds for $50 these days,
Thats a lot of shooting for the $$$.

    ^^ this.

Six years ago, I bought a police surplus 38 Special S&W Model 10 on Gunbroker for $299. It has the best stock trigger of any gun I've ever picked up. It's accurate, and a LOT cheaper to shoot than a .44 Magnum. If I had to pick just one revolver, that would be it.

Ruger Super Redhawk. It's one of my favorite guns.

    These threads crack me up.

    Black powder revolver.

You can actually buy ammo and shoot it!
The USA is now a banana republic. Only without the bananas....or the Republic.

I would suggest a 22lr. You said you don’t have any and these are just fun to shoot. Ammo is still fairly cheap. A good combination!!!
