Start off 2021 with a Big Bang! 50 BMG style
Well, I made a decision and bought a used, Unfired Armalite AR50-A1 from a collector who used it in his "Gun room" as the center display piece!
I spend the past couple days breaking in the barrel as described by Armalite, Kinds a pain in the rear, But got me well accustomed to the fire arm and at least I know its broken in to factory spec, Seller had the 30 rounds to do the break in, Just never did, I have the feeling he was a tad apprehensive if it,
Well, Its a real pussycat to shoot, just under 40 pounds with the scope and while I didn't get it out to the 300 yard range on Dec the 30th, I finished breaking in the barrel on a quiet 50 yard range and shot a 3 hole group on one hole, Seems to be the MO of this firearm, (not right to shoot on a shared range) I would think the percussion would bother fellow shooters and Im not ready to hand out ammo for others to try it, Not yet anyway,,,
Im thinking that this is going to be a productive year ahead, 2020 ending with a Big Bang and 2021 starting with a Big Bang,
Wishing all here an Happy and Productive New Year ! ! !
Sincerely,
Peter.
