Re: Does anyone use a lanyard?
Black powder and percussion caps work surprisingly well after soaking in a tub.
I don't speak English , I talk American!

Re: Does anyone use a lanyard?
In my Marine Corps days we tied everything to us, especially (ESPECIALLY) during water operations. I've known a couple Marines who got written up for losing their rifles to the ocean. I was a field radio operator, on patrol everything was tied to everything else. Aside from losing a weapon, my next fear was losing a radio or encryption gear. My canteens were tethered to me, when your in the field for 4 or 5 days you don't want to lose even a quart of water.
When I was in the Army as a Blackhawk crewchief, my 38 was tethered to me, again, not a good thing watching it fall out of the helicopter. I never knew anyone who did that but I didn't want to be the first..The Hostler

I still use a military lanyard and old 1911 flap holster when hunting. Like Ray, almost all of my gear was tied to me while in the army.
I did drop an 81mm mortar base plate out of Huey once.... hotdog pilot was contour flying.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter

Re: Does anyone use a lanyard?
No para cord, I had it strapped to my ruck.
Didn't make that big a hole. Me and a whole bunch of my pissed off friends spent 2 days looking for it.
It got revenge on me for dropping it a couple weeks later.
I unassed the chopper, ran out the requisite distance and went prone. The damn thing slid from my ruck, up under my steel pot and knocked me cold.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter
