I could scream!
I just saw a clip of president trumps lasted speech. Not sure if was televised as my wife showed it to me on her phone. I can’t believe all the $ going to other countries. What the hell does this support have to do with Covid relief here? These are the times to tighten the belt and take care of business here first. Don’t even get me started on the part where illegals can end up getting more than the citizens ,oops (sheepeople) can. This is flagrant in your face bull shit. Hopefully trump will make the changes that are needed. I’m afraid this is the beginning of the end over the next term. The damage that will be done will take generations if ever to fix.

Re: I could scream!
I said this in the Trump thread... and I will repeat it here.
I miss the days when people and politicians were concerned about the rising national debt and wanted balanced budgets and limited spending. Now a days it like "Hey we are spending another trillion we don't have..... no big deal".

Not the best thread title for subject matter specificity...add, "re: Stimulus 2020 boondoggle?" Anyway, Limbaugh outlined just some of the insanity stuffed in this 5000+ page steaming pile of horse shit. The sad part is the vast majority of doofus America only knows, "Cool, I'm getting more 'free' money from the government. Time to shop for that new big screen tv."

Re: I could scream!
And...that's a load of shit.
The largest single debtor of the Federal Government is the Social Security Trust Fund, by a long shot. It owns about $3T of the debt. Overall, "intergovernmental" debt is about $6T, and 22% of the total.
The public debt is about 78%, or $21T. All foreign governments COMBINED only have about one-third of that. Japan has more of it than China. Together, Japan and China have about $2.3T, which is less than what Social Security is owed, and is about one-third of foreign holdings.
Here's a breakdown of the "public" debt:
- Foreign: $6.81 trillion (in July 2020, Japan: $1.29 trillion and China: $1.07 trillion, $2.36T total)
- Federal Reserve and government: $10.16 trillion (June 2020)
- Mutual funds: $2.5 trillion
- State and local governments, including their pension funds: $1.14 trillion
- Private pension funds: $819 billion
- Insurance companies: $244 billion
- U.S. savings bonds: $150 billion (June 2020)
- Other holders such as individuals, government-sponsored enterprises, brokers and dealers, banks, bank personal trusts and estates, corporate and non-corporate businesses, and other investors: $1.79 trillion
Overall, China only owes about 5% of the Federal Government's debt, which is less than Japan's share. So, try again.
Fun Fact: For all the hate he gets - Andrew Jackson is the only POTUS to have paid off the national debt.
