Many people run an FFL transfer business out of their home and don’t advertise very much, but the ATF is legally required to release every month a spreadsheet with every FFL and their name, FFL number, type of license (01,07 etc) business premises address, mailing address, and business telephone number.

In my actual experience, FFLs welcome phone calls and letters asking about what services they provide and if they can help fulfill a need you have.

You can download that spreadsheet here:

    https://www.atf.gov/firearms/listing...arms-licensees

Also, if you are looking for some FFLs in southeastern Pennsylvania with reasonable fees, here are some I have had good experiences with:

Stars and Stripes Tactical in West Chester

    Dusty Rhoads in Norwood

    St Byrne in Media

Also, here’s a tip. If you’re ordering a firearm online, it’s best to have it shipped to a so called “kitchen table” / “tabletop” / “transfers only no inventory” FFL. Those FFLs have more reasonable fees and welcome transfers instead of despising them. They also tend to be more home based and be less crowded.

    That’s my two cents.
    I agree!

You can just check Buds and Ky Gun Co. for their preferred FFL list by zip code. Even little Erie has a big selection of home based FFLs that are glad to do the business for 20, 25 bucks. You don't have to buy a gun from either company to use their lists. I use a Class III FFL, charges 20 bucks, and lets me know when it's there, and what slots are good for him to pick up. He doesn't lose any business and picks up a few bucks. I also used him to mail a couple of guns, and the buyer paid for his services.

Is there more to this thread than I don't like what some Philly FFL's charge for internet sale/transfers, so I'm going to cry about it rather than find cheaper ones?

I think that sums it up nicely.

Well, in the OP there is also some kind of implied "2nd amendment violation" by the cartel of businesses who don't feel inclined to charge a fee that the OP fees comfortable with. The idea being that the high fee is anti 2A and somehow shouldn't be allowed, and that it is a conspiracy of some kind. But it is only implied, not explicitly stated.

To the OP, excellent RANT Sir!

Haven*t seen your issue here in NEPA. Most FFL*s are more than accommodating here in Pike and Wayne CO*s.

Whoa there nelly! the number of Gun Shop Fudds coming out of the woodwork here to shill and hold water for scummy business practices are disturbingly high! I make an attempt to try an educate new shooters, this particular subject about transfers is something that I mention both in the shop and on the range.
There are some good posts here, shop around and take your business elsewhere to a place that deserves it.
