Default Ltcf printable form and how early to apply.

Hello all, I need to admit I’ve been out of the loop a bit this year. I just happened to notice my license to carry firearms expires March 2021. I’m not sure of the current restrictions with Covid and all that jazz but is there a printable form I can have ready when I get there, how soon can I apply and is it still $25 via check? Lancaster County. Thank you and I’m sure if I was better equipped and knowledgeable at searching the forum and Internet it’s been discussed so I appreciate your patience if this is a redundant subject. Brian.

It's never really too early but the new one will expire in five years. It seems like every county is acting differently and I haven't heard a report from Lancaster County. I'd check their website or give them a call.

It is 20 dollars. Any more the. That is a violation of the law.

I believe I just read that the deadline has been extended to 31 Mar 2021

GOVERNOR WOLF'S LICENSE TO CARRY EXTENSION

UPDATED 12/15/20: Licenses expiring on March 19, 2020 or later are now valid through March 31, 2021. The previous extension was to expire on December 31, 2020.

Here is the info you seek.
Doesn't appear that you can apply in person due to covid, but I would confirm the posted info in case it has not been updated.

Except nothing in the law allows for extensions.

60 days prior to expiration is typically the earliest that the issuing agents will allow you to renew. There really isn't a set number of days in law, but they go by the statutory requirement of 60 day notices.

The fee is $20. Manner of payment(cash/check/MO/etc) is up to the issuing agent.

Nothing in law has allow any of his dictates, but that still hasn't stopped anything. ...not for the LTCF, drivers license/registration/inspection extensions, nor any closures/restrictions.

    From the link (thanks EM)

THE ONLY FORM OF PAYMENT THAT WILL BE ACCEPTED WILL BE IN THE FORM OF A MONEY ORDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $20.00 MADE PAYABLE TO THE SHERIFF*S OFFICE OF LANCASTER COUNTY. THE APPLICATION ALSO MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A COPY OF THE APPLICANT*S CURRENT DRIVER*S LICENSE. PLEASE INCLUDE A CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER SO WE MAY CONTACT YOU. APPLICATION, MONEY ORDER AND COPY OF CURRENT DRIVER*S LICENSE SHOULD BE MAILED TO:
    LANCASTER COUNTY SHERIFF*S OFFICE
    50 NORTH DUKE STREET
    PO BOX 83480
    LANCASTER, PA 17602
Once your application is received and processed by our Office, we will review the application, conduct the investigation we deem necessary, and then notify the applicant of a date and time when they may appear in the Office, complete the process and be issued a License to Carry Permit (or, be informed of a denial of issuance and the process to challenge that decision).
I sent my renewal per the above instructions in late March, received email acknowledgement early April and was called for my in person appointment mid May. The timing was due to the total lockdowns. I believe the process now should be quicker. Lancaster County Sheriff is very 2A friendly.
