Here's a link to the letter

ATF’s longstanding and publicly known position is that a firearm does not evade classification under the NFA merely because the firearm is configured with a device marketed as a “stabilizing brace” or “arm brace.”
ATF recognizes that before issuance of this notice, there was a misunderstanding by some that a pistol assembled with any item purported to be a stabilizing brace still would be considered a “pistol” regardless of other characteristics. The objective factors discussed here make clear that while some stabilizing braces may lawfully be used on pistols without bringing the firearm within the purview of the NFA, that is not necessarily the case for every “pistol” because some firearms are configured or have characteristics such that they meet the statutory definition of “rifle or shotgun” (hereafter, “affected stabilizer-equipped firearms”). ATF understands that most individuals who acquired affected stabilizer-equipped firearms did so in good-faith reliance on representations, made by those selling the stabilizing braces or the firearms, that those firearms were not subject to the NFA

Fingers crossed they use lube on us and allow a tax free SBR registration period as alluded to in the doc.

Yeah so they know exactly who to come and take them from once they are registered.

I’m so done with this shit. You follow the law and they keep changing the rules which aren’t laws until there’s no place to go but jail, forced registration, then forced confiscation.

"At least, Orange Man won't be in office", the TDS crowd will say this to themselves as their freedoms continually get squashed by a tyrannical government obsessed with regaining all of it's diminished power over our lives.

There are many who don't want to give the .gov their fingerprints, not always about the tax stamp fee. Free "registration" period or not, I suspect there are going to be a lot of illegal SBRs out there. There must be millions who bought those things in good faith.

I don’t know any gun owners who don’t have one at this point. If they are going to be illegal might as well just put a regular stock on it and call it a day.

They did a similar thing with Street Sweep , Striker 12 and USAS shotguns. They offered free tax stamp to the current owners. However now it's a Pain in the A** to sell it.
