Buttery-Sweet Dessert Protection
This dessert is simple to make and tastes awesome right out of the oven, or reheated the next day.
I'm not sure which is more dangerous - the .380 protecting it, or the butter content used to make it.
"Easy apple dumplings" and an F.I. Industries Model D .380 ACP
Basically it's sliced apples wrapped in crescent rolls and a mixture of butter, sugar, vanilla, Mountain Dew, and cinnamon.
I'll post the recipe if anyone wants it.
Going into the oven...
DING!!! Looks done...
Careful, it's very hot...
Mmmm... this stuff is AWESOME served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Sadly, we had none available.
I like to remove them to a platter, as the buttery sauce tends to make them a bit soggy on the bottom if left to sit in the pan...
Some of the "sauce" that was left in the pan. You can discard it, add some more to your dish, or pour it in a container to reheat later...
This dessert is very, very sweet (borderline TOO sweet for my taste), and is in no way, shape, or form good for you, but it makes a great occasional treat, and goes a long way, as I don't think anyone could eat more than two of them at a time.
OK, more gun photos...
Any questions, feel free to ask!
Don't wait too long though, as I can feel my arteries clogging already!
p.s.
Sorry the photos aren't that great - the kitchen lighting is bad, and my "photo" light burned out right when I started taking pics. Ugh.

The .380 won't save you. (neither will 9mm, .45 [ACP, GAP, or LC, or -70])

I can just imagine how good that would be on a cold, rainy night like tonight! Nice protection too!

Re: Buttery-Sweet Dessert Protection
When my wife read the recipe to me, I was like, "Mountain Dew - WTF?" LOL
Haha read on...
Yeah. I made chili for dinner - perfect weather for it. Didn't feel like doing a "photoshoot" at the time - I just wanted to EAT.
Thanks. It was my first carry gun. I rarely shoot it, and have debated selling it often, but it's such an "unusual" handgun (I have only seen one other) that I can't bring myself to sell it.
OK, twist my arm.
Lemme go find it...
Recipe coming up. Stop at the store on your way home tomorrow!I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Easy Apple Dumplings
Ingredients:
• 2 Whole granny smith apples
• 2 cans(tubes) (8 oz. ea) Crescent Rolls
• 2 sticks butter
• 1 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 can (12 oz.) Mountain Dew
• Cinnamon to taste
Preparation:
Peel and core apples.
Cut each apple into 8 slices.
Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll
Place in 9x13 buttered pan
Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir.
Add vanilla, stir, and pour mixture over rolled apples.
Pour Mountain Dew around edges of pan.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Serve with ice cream and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.
Notes:
• The fist time we made this, we followed directions, but used a pan that was a bit smaller. The sauce seemed to soak in more making them a bit soggy. (smaller pan = "deeper" sauce = more area to soak in)
This time, we used the type of pan as indicated and the sauce wasn't as "deep" and the tops "crisped-up" a little more.
• We also reduced the butter used. (Used 1 3/4 sticks instead of 2)
• The first time we made this, we felt there should be "more apple" in each roll, so this time we put two slices inside each crescent roll. I think we used 3 apples, but I'm not sure.
• This dessert is good by itself, but it is heavenly when served warm, with a scoop of ice cream.
• You can buy "reduced fat" crescent rolls to make this "healthy". ROFLMAO!
• Your home will smell buttery-sweet for hours! (drool)
Enjoy!
