This bayonet is replacing the USMC's M9 Bayonet. The OKC-3s features an 8" clip point blade made of proprietary carbon steel with a Rockwell hardness of 53-58. The blade is .200 inches thick and 1 3/8" wide, with a 1 3/4" partial serration, sharpened top false edge, and non-reflective black phosphate coat. The blade is one inch longer than the M9 and holds a better edge. The handle is embossed with USMC on one side, and the Eagle, Globe & Anchor on the reverse. The ergonomically grooved handle provides a more secure grip and reduces hand strain. The scabbard is made of brown molded polymer, with a ceramic-aluminum sharpening rod on the back. The bayonet is secured in the scabbard by a fitted internal stainless steel spring retention device. The scabbard is equipped with two MOLLE straps which enable several carry options. The brown handle, scabbard and webbing are compatible with the USMC MARPAT colors. The overall length of the bayonet is 13¼" & weighs 1.4 pounds.
