Easiest is picking up pre made rg8 because you need the so239 chassis mount. Dx engineering has it all..
It's probably 10' to the attic floor from the wall box, which is about 8' from my Lay-Z- Boy

Gotcha , for your setup I’d get the following:
    https://www.dxengineering.com/search...rder=Ascending

Adapter cable for radio to feedline just need to match if male or female on the radio

    https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/dxe-8xdx025

25’ rg8x same feedline I have. I’d just have it come through a cable plate with bristles on it so you can pull the excess out to get to your chair since the adapter cables are only a couple feet long.

Chassis mount for building the ground plane antenna. Just add copper wire. I would solder the center (driven) element but you could even use a butt connector. Look up online for exact lengths. But I think center is 19.25” to the insulator and radials are 20.5” and bent down at 45 degrees.

I'll be on the air on 40 Meter SSB this evening, Sunday, January 17th. If anyone from the PAFOA would like to meet on air for a QSO or round table, please, drop me a line.

If any did, I missed it. I'll be on the air on 40 Meters for at least part of this evening.
