My biggest regret in terms of guns I've sold.

Like you, I just have a hard time shelling out that kind of cash for a clunky piece of wood and steel.
    Great rifles, sure, but...
Same....paid three hundred bucks for my Egyptian made Maadi years ago and wouldn't mind having another but the few that I havee seen offered are very far from that price.

I never need to buy another 5.56 round ever again. Got enough 65 gr game kings and 69gr match kings to last forever.

Nah... A good ol' M1 Garand in .30-06!

With the crazy money people are asking for everything nowadays, a refurbished CMP special rack grade M1 @ $650 (no tax, no FFL fee, shipping included) shipped directly to your door is a real bargain.

Haven't thought about that but you're absolutely right.... When an SKS is $500 but an M1 is only $650....

Yeah but the ammo for the SKS is a lot cheaper and right now easier to find.

I don’t reload and won’t be anytime soon not that it’s a good time to get into that because you can’t find shit anyway.

Good point about the SKS. I have always preferred the SKS to the AK......just as reliable and more accurate.
Price of ammo? Availability? Any advice nowadays is akin to closing the barn door after the horses have run off.
For the future....reloading is how you maintain your inventory and insure availability
I really do not know how much ammo costs are today, other than that prices are high. I hear this from fellows at the range. I don*t know because I take my own advice and reload everything that I shoot. (Rimfire ammo...I buy it by the case when I can). When I do stock up, I stock up on components not factory ammo.
