I will say that the return guy at BCA pissed me off as he told me he was holding a barrel for my replacement and he never did, so it took a little longer to get my replacement barrel.

I've spent much more than $50 on a bad meal, so I took the risk with BCA barrel. BCA will make it right, so why not risk it for $50? Hell, "top tiered" companies have lemons go through their production as well and you will spend 6X the money, so put things into perspective.
What ammo are you running through it? I've read that BCA barrels don't like steel cased stuff, but sometimes works great with the more expensive Hornady stuff. I've got most of the parts for a 6.5 Grendel AR build. Been trying to decide if I want to go cheap and get BCA barrel or spend a lot more and go with something like a Criterion barrel.

I try to buy "middle of the road" when possible, even though that's "top tier" in terms of what my funds allow.
There are certain parts I don't care about - like stripped uppers and lowers - I'll buy the cheapest ones I can find.
Things like barrels, I'll try to go with something like Ballistic Advantage, or Faxon since they are known to be good, yet they are not unobtainable financially.

I bought a BCA barrel on clearance from PA a year or 2 back for like $57.00 shipped. MPN: B223WMMW1818(P) or some shit.
18 inch parkerized ,mid leangth, their socom profile. 1 in 8 wylde twist. I built my first upper with it. It shoots 10 shots around 1 inch at 100 yards with 55 gr vmax, and 24.7 grns of TAC powder, LC brass. with the FMJ bulk its aroun 2 inches. I have yet to try anything heavier, as the 55 grn fodder is cheaper to shoot. all in all i have no issues with the barrel, never tried any of thier build stuff tho. just my 2 cents

Anyone know if BCA overboxes items, or if they will do so or package them more discretely by request?

I tried calling them months ago when I wanted a different item from them. They didn't pick up the phone.
