    Cool BEAR HARVESTING REPORTS ?

Where are they ? I still see 2-3 late afternoon . Saw a group of bear hunters on rt 423 about ten hunters they came out of woods at 10:30 am and it was not very cold .With all that pushing they probably walked right over sleeping bears ?

I have had a hunter on my property from dawn to dusk these past few days and he's seen very little. Had lots of bear activity up to this week.

We had nothing in the Poconos. I sat out most of the day until it was time to take a dump. Then I decided it was just better to walk back to the cabin. Sunday I went home to pick up something that was needed. Monday was all but a wind storm. My brother and I agreed to not go hunting. The top of the mountain where we hunt has pockets of swamp. Between per existing widow makers and hearing stuff fall, we cleaned up the cabin and called it a day. Deer starts this coming weekend but Ill be staying home.

They’re just a touch over 3,000 harvested this season with almost 2k of them coming in archery and muzzleloader when I got mine :-) Might be 1,500 less than last year which was a huge year for them.

The onoy bear that I've seen up here since mid-October was when I was driving through Tobyhanna, coming home from work Saturday night around 11:20 pm. I had a this-year's cub shoot across the road in front of me.

Neighbor of mine supposedly shot one over 600# yesterday in Covington twnshp.

Update, it was not my neighbor but a friend he was hunting with, 607 pounds.

I expect that that to be some tough, gnarly eating.

Cut me off a couple of hams and I will eat it. Smoker and slow cooker are ready for something new.

I hunted three days; Saturday, Sunday and Monday on three different sections of SGL #91 in Luzerne County. Heard 3 shots on Saturday, none on the others. Several hunters on Saturday, very few on Sunday and none on Monday. No bears seen. I think the early seasons put a big hurt on the population. Plus, I think every year prior has been a record breaker of the year before. Can*t keep having harvests like that and not encounter a population decline.
