    Default Zastava ZPAP92 pistol

My local FFL has a zpap92 pistol in stock for $890. I know this pistol usually goes for around $800 but firearms and ammo are short supply now. This model doesnt come with a brace just a predrilled rear trunnion for a rail adapter. One of the reasons I want to pick one up is in case the Biden administration bans semi auto AK imports. What do you think of this pistol? Should I just buy it or wait?

I have one of the newer ZPAP M70 rifles and couldn't be happier. It's a well made AK and built like a damn tank. I would expect the same from the ZPAP92. In fact I've been eyeing one myself, but there are just a couple things a little higher on my priority list right now.

The only real downside to the ZPAP is that standard AKM furniture won't fit. That's not a major concern for me because the stock furniture is pretty decent, but if you're planning to customize it you might find the selection limited. Just something to keep in mind.

$890 isn't a terrible price either. Atlantic has them in stock right now for $829... add shipping and transfer fees and you're in the same ballpark.

    I say just buy it

I have an M92 and I really like it. It has been nothing but reliable. Very nice gun, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Do all the ZPAP92 pistols come with a predrilled hole in the rear trunnion? I'd like to put a rail with folding brace but not comfortable drilling a hole myself.

All of the recent imports with a 1.5mm receiver and "bulged trunnion" should have the predrilled hole. If you're buying from someone local you should be able to check pretty easily. There will be a plastic plug covering the hole.

I kick myself for not getting one two years ago when you could find one for $450.

I don't really remember. It was a while ago, right after pistol braces came onto the market, probably 2013 or so.

That makes sense. I want to say they only started selling the updated version within the past year or so.
