Default Help me find my new AR upper.

I'm looking for a second upper for my AR. I'd like to find a complete upper with a 24" stainless (maybe even fluted, but not necessary) bull barrel with a free floated hand guard. Anyone know of anything meeting that description?

I'd love to use the 16" barreled upper that was stock for close range offhand shooting with a red dot sight, and have the longer barrelled upper dedicated to scoped shooting out to 200 yards.

    Thanks!
    Dave

Thanks Lycan. That .223 Varmint upper looks awesome. That might be the winner! Does this company have a good reputation? I've never heard of them up until now.

Very good reputation in CMP shoots. I've had two of their barrels and they both shot better than .5 moa with handloads. They are Wilson blanks cut by Compass Lake, I believe. They love the 77gr Nosler Custom Competition.

This one wears their 18" barrel.

Not to steer you away from whiteoak but Randy up in Topton(Handgunners) has a DPMS 24in bull barrel, floated and fluted monster available. I believe it has a match receiver, it most likely does. He is a great guy to deal with and the shop although small is my favorite I have ever been to.

    Just a thought.

+1 on WhiteOak. I have the 20" Service Rifle upper on my CMP AR. On a good day I can manage 1.5 inch groups through the iron sights at 200 yards from prone. I know the rifle can shoot even better than that. FYI, your current 16" can probably shoot pretty good groups with the right load at 100-200 yards. The 20"-24" White Oak uppers and most varmint uppers really come into play out at the 300-600 yard range.

Is that full upper or just the barrel assembly?

    Full upper, 90% sure.
And like I said Randy will stand behind it plus you're buying local.
