Re: Reloading Components Availability
has anyone seen large rifle primers that haven't gone full retard on price? I looked at ammoseek today and saw one place had "fort smith" LRP but at $250 a brick and selling them in 5,000 batches, that's a hard pass for me. I have a thousand 308 cases I'd like to load up.

60 per thousand isn't so bad. My dealer cost has doubled in the past year.

Re: Reloading Components Availability
Midway USA had CCI LRP this morning and yesterday. I think they were $60/1k. Sportsmans Warehouse gets primers randomly and they were recently $36/1k. Remington primers also showed up at Midway today for a moment so that is a good sign.

Re: Reloading Components Availability
I mean, if I have to, I'm willing to pay around $60 for a brick. I get that they're out everywhere. What I won't do and nobody else should either is pay the ridiculous gouging prices that fellow "gun enthusiasts" ( I use that term loosely as they should be ashamed of themselves) are charging on gaybroker and elsewhere.

Don't forget the shipping costs on those primers.

Re: Reloading Components Availability
Yea. I saw some primers pop up on midway once but it was limit one. After adding another $40 for hazmat and shipping it still wasn't worth it to me.
On the bright side I have been monitoring gunbroker sold listings. In the last few weeks there have been a bunch of listings for 5000 round cases. And they have been going for less than $550! So primers are slowly getting availible.

Re: Reloading Components Availability
I have friends paying prices I won’t for primers on GB, Midway, and elsewhere and they are happy to. They’re not hoarders or idiots. They all got into reloading in the past year and want to use all their fancy new equipment to make ammo. The cost of primers doesn’t bother them. They’re not loading to save money but to shoot more or make the ammo they can’t find.

Re: Reloading Components Availability
I was surprised when Midway upped their primer price from $45 to $60 last week now that they are starting to get some in. Now two days later all of the primers start at $75.
I didn't think Midway was the type of company that did that......And please no lectures on supply and demand economics.
