According to other posts here, I thought it was against policy to advise people to break the law? If this becomes law, are we going to ban members who post about not complying? Personally, I sold all of mine to some guy wearing a mask. They can inspect my house when the law passes to confirm I no longer have them. After that there will be some hard decisions to make.

That is the whole argument. AR 15s are not assault weapons, and as far as I know are not issued to our military to be used as such. Lots of firearms are made to look like military weapons.
The 1911, as mentioned a few times in this thread has a lot of clones, a GSG 22 is not what I want to step into a combat zone with. The gun haters use the name "assault weapon" to scare those uneducated about guns. Even our hunting shotguns can be accessorized to look like a military weapon.
