"The findings were nothing short of alarming.

Investigators concluded that the whereabouts of more than 100 service firearms is unknown, along with another 109 personal firearms that were either surrendered to, or seized by, the department.

Officials from the Philadelphia City Controllers office said that while they still have no idea where most of those missing firearms ended up, they are following some truly disturbing leads.

"Our investigation did find evidence of trading at gun shops with city sheriff's office guns," Rhynhart said. "Very, very problematic."

If only there was a Lost/Stolen reporting law, this would have never happened.

Qualified immunity should not and must not apply to those found to be participants in those firearms leaving the department's custody.

    qualified immunity should be qualified?
committing a crime should be a dis qualifier?

The general public will never know what happened or the extent of it. That city is so corrupt it makes Chicago look like a convent.

I was just saying the same thing to someone the other day. I am a "sixty-something" and I was raised in Chicago. Philly makes the elder Richard J. Daley look like a rank amateur! Living here now, I don't know whether to be appalled or proud!

A lawyer buddy of mine described it as "Gangs of New York, 20th/21st Century".

Some went to gun dealers. Don't suppose that would be a papered transaction producing a suspect. Nah.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.
