Did early setup yesterday and the place was already filling up. Any other POOFAs going?

I personally don't do the early pioneer stuff, but know plenty of folks who do. I've been a reenactor since the 1980s myself and done a lot of different things over the years. Fun hobby. Some nice people I've been privileged to know. As with any hobby, a few asshats as well. I do think reenactment in general has declined. Fewer people involved and many aging out of being able to do the hobby. Guns, swords, and gear in general has gotten frighteningly expensive as well. Still wouldn't trade the experiences for anything.

Sorry to hear that Dixon's fair has ended. It was a wonderful show/fair weekend. One of the highpoints of my summers.
