Default Hodgdon take over of Western Powders

I spent a fairly long time developing loads for my .308 Win and 6.5 Swede and found Norma gave the best results of the powders I had tested. In fact in the Swede Norma MRP out-performed their load data for the 140 gr Sierra GK. Now I get this from Hodgdon and it really frosts my balls!

    Brick,

There is no more Western Powders, it is now Hodgdon Powder Company. Sorry but Norma powders will no longer be carried, sold and tech help will no longer be provided by Hodgdon Powder Company. To get Norma powder you will have to talk to Norma directly.

MRP is close in burn rate to VV N560 and RL 22. I guess I'll try those to see if I can get close. Powder Valley and few others still have Norma powder but I'm at a loss about whether to stock up or not. Now I know why the Norma website doesn't list the US as a market any longer.

If MRP shoots really good in your Swede, and you really like it, I'd go ahead and stock up a few pounds or so. Powders nowadays last almost forever (yes a little hyperbole) if treated/stored correctly so you wouldn't have to worry about working up loads with a new powder for awhile.
