In a 50/50 situation, you have to hope that at least one of the Dems - Manchin - knows he'd be cutting his own political throat to vote for anything infringing on firearm rights. I think he's largely spineless but he has 'stood up' on rare occasion.

I agree, for Biden to get any of his wish list he's gonna have an uphill battle. Too bad the Demoncrats have made gun control such a central issue on the party platform. Used to be people could count on some sanity from representatives from more blue collar and rural regions, but I guess no more.

Not a great situation but a wary standoff at best. We can only hope that the Republican majority in the Senate holds enough to block anything stupid. My summation is any legislation will amount to death by nibbles as the Democrats will try to work on bipartizan legislation that wouldn't muster an outright rejection on both sides of the party line.

I agree it*s not likely..... but given the right convergence of insanity it is possible.
If the Democrats control 50 seats (+ Horrible Harris), I fully expect them to use the nuclear option and destroy the remaining vestige of the filibuster so they can ram through whatever agenda they want with 51 votes.

The dems stick together. The Republicans not so much.
Absolutely. We MUST WIN in Georgia to have any hope.

Chuck Schumer said, "Now we win in Georgia, and then we change the world!" The nuclear option is how they will do it.

Retaining the filibuster is our only hope of stopping gun control since I don't believe our RINOs will stand for the 2A.

Manchin co-sponsored a major gun-control bill with Toomey. He cannot be trusted.

If Dems have the majority and finish off the filibuster to ram through other legislation, when gun control comes around, you can bet it will go straight through.

Don't forget they have no problem packing the court too!

Please consider donating to the Senate races in Georgia if you can afford to.

This is impossible, because they currently control 46, (i.e., 48 if they*re fortunate enough to win the 2 Georgia seats, which is unlikely).

Uh, the Independents vote with the Democrats pretty much all the time.

I suppose you are technically correct, for all practical purposes, 48 Dem + 2 Independent + Harris = 51 and thus control.

Or do you actually expect ol' Bernie and Angus to side with us?

Manchin has already announced he will vote no on ending the filibuster and expanding the Supreme Court.
I can't see a West Virginian who campaigns with a rifle in his hands voting for gun control but he did sponsor a background check bill.
