Have ammo prices affected your shooting habits?
Do you shoot less or perhaps differently because of the cost to replace the ammo you use?
I've mostly been shooting 38 special and 22lr. I was buying 22lr during the Obama years during virtually every trip to Walmart.
I traded something a few years back for a bunch of 38 special. So I've been burning through it.
Trying to keep my 9mm in reserve.
I have plenty of 5.56/.223 if i pace myself. Last outing, i shot under 100 rounds over the course of a couple of hours.

Re: Have ammo prices affected your shooting habits?
No hasn't changed anything for me. My plan years ago after 2013 was that if any supply disruption happened, I was set up to shoot anytime I wanted, shoot competitions, whatever for at least 5 years without a worry and have enough components to reload all of my brass at least once over.

Yea, I shoot or did alot of CMP HP and 77GR OTM wasn't low cost to start now it's rare and even worse. I got my practice in at Quantico this year but only due to the Navy providing ammo.
I'm saving what I have left for practice next year and sight in my replacement scope.
Fun shoots, very little again going to save for what if.
All the appointments to provide training- canx due to ammo.

Re: Have ammo prices affected your shooting habits?
I shoot less ammo now, bit it depends on the gun too. I used to shoot a lot more when I needed to get improved accuracy with certain guns, including sight adjustments. I still have a hipoint carbine site to adjust and a old carcano that I guess I don't have a good "feel" for yet.
Some of the cheaper and less used ones aren't worth going through lots of ammo at the moment, until some of the political smoke clears....if it does clear.

Re: Have ammo prices affected your shooting habits?
Yes it has. I can't come to grips with replacing FMJ 115g 9mm at $0.70/ round plus tax and perhaps shipping! I replace what I shoot and don't want to dip into my reserves just to shoot. I do think that numbers will come back to normal in a few months once the vaccine has been deployed and the elections resolved. This will hold very true if the Republicans hold the Senate.

Re: Have ammo prices affected your shooting habits?
I'm still shooting a match pretty much every weekend, but I am not live-fire practicing as much these days. That said, I am one more "SPP score" away from being back to normal ;->
