I cry that I didn't buy the wooden cases of them at the time, But I didn't have the funds to do so,
Also the AKs at $249 still haunt me,
Enjoy what you have and in a. couple years it will be quite the deal!
Great reliable gun you have there!
I bought my Norinco on a Saturday afternoon in Jersey. Was at a friends house and he had a flyer from a LGS.

$99, came with sling, Oiler, chest bandolier, 10 stripper clips and 100 rounds of steel core ammo.

I got my sight tool today, and yay, I can now adjust my front sight. The recoil lug nut socket should be here tomorrow. I'll finally be able to end this unnecessarily long journey and take the damn thing to the range this weekend. One quick observation: I LOVE the safety on this thing. It's in the perfect place for me to never not know whether it's on or off if my finger is anywhere near the trigger. And I don't need to break my grip to manipulate it either. I could probably hit the safety out of the way and pull the trigger with one smooth motion. With those damn cross bolt safeties, I can never tell without either trying to pull the trigger(obviously a bad idea if it's loaded), or physically looking at it and seeing the red part of the bolt.

And yeah, believe me, I HATE that I paid what I did for it too, when I know I could have had one for $100 or less years ago, or even $350 a couple months ago. But that's my own fault for not committing to owning my own firearms sooner.

Meh. It's nothing like the regret that people who paid $2,500 (after Sandy H00k) for a $400 AR15 live with.

I paid $120 for my Yugo and sold it for $350.
The thing with SKS rifles is that it's a good rifle - regardless of what you paid for it.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I have soaked cosmoline covered firearms in kerosene without the wood parts. after 24 to 48 hours I would remove the firearm, disassemble it and put it back into the cosmoline for another 24 hours. Everything comes out supper clean without cosmoline..

Don*t you mean put it back in the kerosene?

WOW! I*m glad you are happy, but good JEEBLES! That is the most I*ve ever heard of someone paying for an SKS! By a lot! I just hope you don*t run into the transition I did so many years ago. Started building AKs. But when my ability & strive for accuracy surpassed the AK, I moved to ARs. I know you*ve said you don*t want an AR. I didn*t either at the time. But it was different times then. There was no wasting money. Good luck.
