Legally you can't do this (adding a vertical foregrip to a pistol). You can do it if you fill out a Form 1 to make it into a AOW (Any Other Weapon)

Here is what is said in the NFA Handbook:
"However, certain alterations to a pistol or revolver, such as adding a second vertical handgrip, create a weapon that no longer meets the definition of a pistol or revolver. A pistol or revolver modified as described is an "any other weapon" subject to the NFA because the weapon is not designed to be fired when held in one hand" And the picture they show is a Glock with a AR style vertical foregrip mounted to the rail.

I can fire my lightweight AR15 16" carbine with one hand.
I suppose that constitutes "reconfiguring it into a pistol", right?

Just being sarcastic, but the irony is that this is the exact same logic that the ATF applies to AR pistol restrictions.

I became a big fan of the 300BLK over the summer. I built a 10.5" pistol with a 6" cann (bedside beast), and a 16" right side charger (no gas system) Deer/hog Rifle. They both shoot very well and since I reload .308 they fit right into my system. Once I took the time to school myself on the ballistics of 300BLK vs 5.56 for CQB, the answer was easy. I just came in from turning 125grn hollow points from Everglades 155grn clearance junkers. The 16" side charger will shoot them into a 2" group at 100yards, and they will EXPLODE a cantelope! Have fun,

    Gerry
