    I don't think the Supreme Court can stop their own expansion. The Constitution mandates the existence of the Court. The size is left to the legislature, so I don't see any basis for a potential challenge, so long as the usual legislative process is followed to enact an expansion, as the number of justices has been altered already several times in the past.

    Not if the SCOTUS declares the packing unconstitutional. But then again, they probably don't have the balls.

    Based on what? The Constitution doesn't say "must be 9 seats" or "can't be more than 9 seats". What can you point to in the Constitution to even suggest a change in the number of seats (in EITHER direction) violates some limitation contained therein?
