I'll give credit to Justin for pointing this out to me - the ammoland article was updated to reflect that the ATF isn't flipping the script on these braces, these particular models just haven't been "evaluated" by the ATF yet. Assuming they go through the same process as others have been, there shouldn't be a problem. I'm skeptical they won't go and change this still at some point in the near future, but it seems they're just being vague and trying to stir up shit.

Are you telling me that NOBODY at the ATF knew of their existence, or that they KNEW, but allowed contraband to be sold, AND WIDELY USED for seven fucking years before deciding to do something about it?

You'd have better odds playing the lottery than counting on the ATF to approve the 23 other braces. They'll probably change their mind and outlaw braces altogether.

I've seen comments around the internet about people being mad at SBA for this. I'd like to tell those people to fuck off. It's the ATF stirring more bullshit with their vague letters and defacto lawmaking. It appears that way. One thing this does show is the ATF themselves are confirming that there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of what they consider short barrel rifles out there for years in legal use and absolutely no carnage has taken place directly because of it. Americans are no safer or in anymore danger because of it.

This tells me the SBR needs to be removed from the NFA not that the brace should be illegal.
