    Default Shoulder rigs

Ok. Who has a shoulder rig?

Been shopping them online. Looking at a Galco Lite.

What rigs are people using, or not using?

I use one about 25% of the time, Carrying a full size 9 or my g20 depending. I use one of these:

If you spend time sitting in a car it's much more comfortable then my typical 3 o'clock owb carry. I really like it for occasions that call for a suit, it's my default wedding carry. The only complaint I have is I need to wear a collared shirt or else it rubs on my neck. Otherwise it's very comfortable. I don't use the mag carrier (don't think it's comfortable, prefer those on my belt or in a pocket). It's the only shoulder holster I've tried, so keep in mind my sample size is one.

I have had two of the Galco lite shoulder holsters. Still good quality for being their "budget" lineup. They do still require a good bit of break in time.

I had one for a Beretta 92 that I no longer have and had one of their Glock 9mm models that fits all the 26/19/17 and the .40 versions with the same dimensions.

They can rub and irritate the upper back and neck area.

If you keep a jacket on all the time it works well.

I used to wear a shoulder rig when on long drives and the like.
I still break it out for certain occasions when my standard IWB doesn't work for me.
I've been very happy with Galco's Miami Classic II for my 1911.
It adds very little bulk and I prefer the horizontal mags.

Dont plan on chasing anyone while wearing it. Interesting viewpoint though

I have a Miami Classic for my P7 and I like it but I just might no know any better. I wear it in the winter. If it's adjusted correctly and I pull the gun and mag pouches forward after donning it, it doesn't bite into my neck. I haven't worked with it for hours but getting the gun back into it while it's mounted is a PITA. I'm more worried about being able to get it out and that's not so bad.

I used to have a Bianchi X15, back when Bianchi was actually Bianchi. Nice to draw from but I didnt like it anchored to my belt. Nor did I care for the harness. Just too constricting. I've been looking for it lately and can't find it.

I had a Miami Classic many years ago. Very comfortable. Reholstering is a 2 handed proposition. That holster went into the dumpster when the thumbreak wore out.

I just bought a new Miami Classic again. Its very comfy but takes a bit more effort to reach since old muscles arent as limber any more. One thing different is that the thumbreak no longer uses spring steel but has some kind of polymer backing. That doesnt seem to pop open as easily.

I have an older, but still unused, Jackass holster I bought as a component some years back. I just ordered a Galco half harness for it to try.

Back in the 90's, I had one of the Bianchi clamshell upside down holsters for a 38 snub. That was a neat holster and very secure. I gave that to a friend who needed it. If I get another snub, I'll have to watch ebay

With the colder weather coming, I'm going to give the Galcos some wear time

Coincidentally my half harness just arrived. The holster side is the same as any miami classic; the other side is an elastic strap with a clasp on the belt end, like a suspender.

Included in the box, however is a really nice brochure, not for holsters, but containing the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration and some quotations. Very nice touch.

miami classic for the 1911 and a horizontal for my berretta not sure of the brand, but it snaps to my belt.
I changed out the nylon straps for cotton ones on the berretta rig and its much more comfortable on hot weather
