Downingtown/Chester County Shop

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the area (Downingtown, specifically) and I'm currently getting ready (last minute style) for bird season.

I need to pick up my hunting license and some shells, so I thought I may as well check out some local shops.

Anyone have any recommendations for a well-stocked shop near (or somewhat near) Downingtown?

I'm looking for something that would have a good selection of shotgun and upland hunting stuff, if possible. If there's nothing nearby, what would be a good shop in the SE PA area in general?

The loss of the Google Maps gunshop map really sucks, btw.

I just "googled" this:
"firearms Stores Near me"

It gave me 7 shops close to my location here in a VERY unhappy "East End of Happy Valley".

Gordon's Sport Supply in Eagle
Chester County Outdoors in Malvern
Target Shooting Solutions in Avondale
King Shooting Supply in King of Prussia
Target Master in Chadds Ford
The Sportsman's Shop in East Earl

You can purchase your hunting license online or search this map to purchase a license in person for hunting/fishing.

Gordon's Sport Supply in Eagle is my goto place. They sell hunting and fishing licenses, and carry a lot of hunting and fishing supplies in their small, family run store. Ammo prices may be slightly higher than Wally-World, but you won't have to wait hours until the only Walmart employee in SEPA entrusted with a key shows up to unlock the ammo case.

I'll never step foot in Target Master in Chadds Ford again after my one and only experience there. They cater to members of their range and do not seem interested in doing business with new customers.
