Re: .22 TCM Cartridge
Your MAPP is 22 TCM9r which is shorter than 22 TCM. 22 TCM, being longer, uses .38 Super magazines in a 1911 platform. The 22 TCM9r was designed to work in converted 9mm handguns. You can shoot 22 TCM9r in a handgun designed for 22 TCM, but not the other way around. The exception is the 22 TCM bolt action rifle from RIA. My understanding is 22 TCM9r does not cycle properly.
The AR Guy makes an AR upper in 22 TCM. Not sure if it will also shoot 22 TCM9r. You'd have to ask.

What*s the ammo cost look like? Because I like the 5.7, but am not willing to pay that much for a gun.

Re: .22 TCM Cartridge
I have been shooting the Rock Island Mapp for 4 years now , zero -problems ,I am shooting it less now due to ammo, but still shoots great. I have have 4000 rounds so I can shoot it for a while ,got 2000 rounds last Feb before the ammo stupidity kicked in. It's a pistol that I won't ever sell!
